Welcome

Nederlands Veengenootschap is a non-governmental and non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and advance the knowledge and understanding of peat and peatlands in different fields. One of the tasks of the organization is to stimulate and support long term sustainable cooperation between scientific and conservation bodies and the peat producing and consuming industry. Professional contacts with the regulatory and governmental agencies is of great importance.

The organisation is the national committee of the International Peatland Society (IPS). The Nederlands Veengenootschap organises conferences, seminars and excursions both on a national and international level.
